Welcome Home Zeke!
Our 7 year old male Bullmastiff, Zeke, had his front left leg amputated 5 days ago, due to a joint tumor. Thank goodness we found tripawds.com a few months ago when we knew this could be a very real possibility. At first, we couldn’t imagine a large breed dog on 3 legs, but after reading and looking at pictures and video on the website, we knew life on 3 legs would be better than him living with the pain on 4. He is 5 days post-op and doing great. He is happy and appears to be pain-free! He tires easily, but hopefully in time, he will build up his stamina and balance.

Cemil also lost his left front leg, and I can tell you that the giants do fine. Zeke probably won’t have quite as much energy as before because it takes more to hop around, but he should be able to do everything he needs to do.
Hope his recovery goes well.

Thanks so much, it’s great to hear good stories about the larger breeds and to know that Cemil did fine after amputation. How long has it been since his surgery? We appreciate your comment! We are hoping for continued progress, he is happy and doesn’t appear to be in pain now.
