Getting better every day…
Today is 16 days since Zeke’s surgery and he is doing well. They decided not to remove the stitches yet and there is an area of the incision that is being stubborn, but other than that, he is getting along great. The trip back to the vet on Monday wore him out and he slept most of the day, but he was happy to see his favorite techs Stacey and Lori. Today, Zeke’s energy level was better, he went outside a few times to enjoy the sun and he even got on the couch for the first time since surgery!! Well, actually for the first time in a long time, even before the surgery, he was just in too much pain that it had been awhile since he had joined us on the couch. I can’t believe it’s been over 2 weeks since the surgery and almost a week since he’s had a pain pill!!! Here’s to getting better every day….

Well done, Zeke!
Catie didn’t have too much difficulty getting up on her favourite couch; the challenge of our king-size bed which is quite high off the ground took her a little longer but she perservered and to my astonishment weeks after the amputation I woke one morning to find her in her usual place by my side. Once they figure out they can do whatever they did before (although sometimes with more caution), there’s no stopping our furry companions!
Time goes quickly, doesn’t it? I can’t believe it’s been over seven months since Catie’s surgery.
Ditto to getting better every day!
