About Zeke
Zeke is our beloved Bullmastiff, born April 11, 2003. I remember the night before we picked him up at the airport, I couldn’t sleep, I was so excited to get our little guy. He was coming from Michigan and when we took him out of the crate, my husband picked him up and Zeke wouldn’t stop licking his chin, his way of saying hello! We brought him home and introduced our English Bulldog, Samson, to him and Zeke quickly hid behind the couch. But it wasn’t long before Zeke was twice the size of Samson! Zeke is a gentle giant, a dog that just wants to love you and be with you. The personality of a Bullmastiff is the BEST! In late fall of 2009, we noticed a limp and quickly took Zeke to our vet. They thought it was a pulled muscle. A few months went by and the limp would come and go. After many x-rays, different specialists, MRI’s and other tests, it was finally determined to be a tumor and the only treatment would be amputation. His amputation surgery was on July 12, 2010. We had to take the pain away and give him a shot at life, even if on 3 legs. As long as he is happy and pain-free, that’s what matters. Zeke has a special place in our hearts and always will, and now he gets even more love, if that’s possible. Big Zeke is truly the toughest, most loving and amazing dog!
